Season/Holiday Themed Activities
Columbus Day Cut, Glue, Color Puzzle: A fine motor/visual motor & visual perceptual tabletop task. Have the child color the puzzle, cut out the pieces, then switch with a peer to re-assemble on the puzzle board worksheet.
Fall Leaves Printing Activity: A great fine motor/graphomotor task. Using fall colored tissue paper or construction paper, have the child snip or tear then roll small pieces of paper to create "leaves" on the tree. After the tree is complete, work on printing skills by writing about your favorite fall activity. Use large lined paper for younger children, small lined paper for older children
Thankful Turkey: A cutting, coloring and printing task. Have the child print what they are thankful for on each turkey feather. Color the feathers and the turkey's body. Cut out the pieces and glue together.
Penguin With Handprint Wings: Color and cut out the penguin. Use black construction paper to trace hands twice to create the pengiuin's wings. A great activity for bilateral coordination.
Letter To Santa: Print these two files on two sided paper to create a list for Santa and envelope. After printing/coloring, have the child fold along the dotted lines to create an envelope to mail to the North Pole.
April Showers: Color and cut out the rain gear on this worksheet. Work on body scheme and visual spatial concepts by having your student draw body parts (head, body, arms, hands, legs and feet) in correct position and correct proportion so that the rain gear can be glued on. Add to the activity by drawing puddles, rain and rainbows in the background. Write a story about your favorite activity to do in the rain.
